Portrait Experiences

These sessions are made for people who want something quieter and more meaningful than standard portraits. I work outdoors, using Scotland’s changing light and landscape as our backdrop. Beaches, woodlands, fields, ridgelines. Every session is photographed on medium-format film, hand-processed and delivered with prints as the first finished pieces you see.

Good portraiture doesn’t rush. We take our time, find the right light, and create images that feel honest, natural and unforced.

Below are the three experiences I offer.

  • Field Session - £350

    A gentle, unhurried portrait session for individuals or couples who want a handful of simple, timeless images. We meet at one outdoor location, somewhere calm and meaningful, and create a small collection of honest photographs that feel like you.

    • Around 1 hour on location
    • 1 roll of medium-format film
    • 3–5 hand-edited final scans
    • One 10×8 fine-art print
    • Online reveal + print ordering

    Perfect for first-time film clients or those wanting something understated and natural.

  • Wild Session - £650

    This is my most popular portrait experience. Space to explore, wander, and find a rhythm. We use two nearby outdoor locations, giving room for variety and storytelling. The extra time and film let us create a richer, more expressive set of portraits.

    • 2–3 hours on location
    • Up to 2 locations within the same area
    • 2 rolls of medium-format film
    • 8–12 hand-edited final scans
    • Three 10×8 fine-art prints
    • Travel within Ayrshire & the Central Belt included

    Perfect for families, couples and anyone wanting the feel of a small photographic journey.

  • Highland Commission - £1150

    A half-day, destination style commission for those wanting a deeper and more cinematic body of work. We travel into the landscapes that feel right for you, lochs, coastlines, quiet forests or dramatic Highland passes. This is the most considered portrait experience I offer.

    • Up to 4–5 hours of shooting
    • Multiple outdoor locations
    • 3 rolls of medium-format film
    • 12–18 hand-edited final scans
    • Six fine-art prints (varied selection)
    • Travel up to 2.5 hours included
